Teresa Collins

Teresa Collins

I love what I do. I believe that living a creative life is a daily passion for me. It all started as a little girl in Hickory, North Carolina, I accompanied my mom to constant interior design jobs. Little did I know that I would share that same journey. I am a designer who wants to create a beautiful life. I am passionate about the creative process and inspiring others to do the same. I strive to be proactive in the crafting industry instead of reactive. It is my goal to always evolve and stretch my creativity in all that I do and design.

I strive to “design” my surroundings and memories so that they will be both beautiful and meaningful. I had no idea that within a year of scrapbooking, I would be designing products and teaching others how to document memories. I am Teresa Collins the owner and founder of Teresa Collins Designs. I started this creative journey in 2002 after the sudden death of my best friend... my mom. I was completely heartbroken and found scrapbooking her memories a HUGE source of comfort.

Little did I know I would become HOOKED. I quickly realized
that I could use my interior design skills to help others create beautiful stories through my products and their photos. After several years designing successful lines in the crafting industry, I became really BRAVE and decided to start my own company. It has been such a huge BLESSING to be able to have a successful and thriving business. This has lead me to realize it was time to enter the world of design for the stationery and office market. The debut of Studio Gold in May of 2014 at the New York City Stationery Show. I am truly thankful each day for the path my love for design has taken me. I can be found at Good Will looking for items to alter and make into crafting necessities. My goal is to bring fresh, innovative products to the world that are trendsetting, and inspire others to create both in crafting and home design and memory keeping through photos.

I travel the world to share how to create from the heart. I believe it is important to connect with the consumers. Traveling has been a way for me to know the needs and wants in the craft world. You could find me at a mall in Spain, or a village in Africa, or the local Good Will as I strive to find new inspiration. I have had the pleasure to teach throughout the United States, Italy, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, South Africa, France, Portugal, Wales, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, the Caribbean Islands, and the United Kingdom. I am traveling constantly in hopes to inspire and get inspired along the way. LIFE is to be lived and celebrated- every day.

I blog regularly to share my passion and heart with others.I have my own Teresa Collins crafting events each year in addition to my other events. I have a yearly crafting cruise that allows me to spend time with my wonderful supporters. I am just a mom who is lucky enough to have followed her creative dreams. I want to inspire others to do the same. I do this also through my weekly show for My Craft Channel (mycraftchannel.com), visits on ABC4 Good Things Utah, and a regular craft guest on HSN and Create & Craft USA TV. It is my hope to inspire others to create with both style and meaning at an affordable price. I have also been on QVC, Ideal World, HGTV DIY television and featured in the Provo Craft infomercial. I have authored and contributed to many craft and home décor related idea books and magazines. I recently wrote the book LIVE LIFE IN ALL CAPS.

I have been so fortunate to have the most amazing companies want to partner and design products with me. I have partnerships with Canon, Fiskars, Clearsnap, Craftwell, Joann Fabric and Craft stores, The Original Scrapbox, Xyron, and Photocentric and previously Provo Craft. My passion and enthusiasm for designing never stops. It is hard for me to sleep at night! I believe in sharing my journey and story through my products and artwork. I travel the world teaching and giving motivational talks to inspire others to LIVE LIFE IN ALL CAPS. I encourage others to DREAM BIGGER and BE FEARLESS as you live each day.

My name is Gerry van Gent. I’m a Bulgarian woman who lives in The Netherlands. Married to Arjen - my supportive Dutch hubby and a mother to two kids who are often smiling on my projects. Since 2009 I got seriously involved into paper crafting and designed for many leading companies like Prima Marketing, Webster’s Pages, Glitz Design, Sizzix, etc. I have been also published in Dutch and International magazines. I am currently designing for 49 and Market company and making exclusive video’s for The Scrapbook Diaries.

My work is romantic, shabby chic and sometimes you can find touches of vintage. My projects are detailed and dimensional. I love stamping, playing with paint, hand-stitching and fussy-cutting.

I am an owner of Gerry’s Crafty Studio which is the place where I create, give workshops and make video tutorials.

She is a qualified teacher and has been passionately scrapbooking since 2004 with her work published in various local and international magazines and publications. Her formal teaching began with children, teenagers and adults in the school environment as well as in the computer industry.

In 2010, she attended Ranger University in New Jersey, USA and is now a certified Ranger Instructor. She was a Guest Designer for Prima Marketing inc’s magazine, ‘My Prima Place’ Vol 2 as well as for Scrap Africa in 2012.

She completed various design courses at reputable organizations, designing adverts and artwork for various magazines and publications in the industry in South Africa.

She designs layouts and teaches classes at major events and personalized classes as well as retailer education classes for the largest local scrapbook distributor in South Africa, Rubber Stamp & Engraving (Trodat South Africa). In June 2016, in partnership with Trocraft, she launched her own collection, Penelope Dee...South African manufactured papercraft products. The product launch was a success with the paper and product selling out in a few days.

Her primary goal is to take scrapbooking on a never ending journey beyond mundane, repetitious themes and content to an ever upward attainment of new and exciting layouts and new ideas. She has a unique creative style both in her layouts and her teaching methods which makes attendance to both her classes and conventions an enjoyable, life changing experience. This is evident in the growing number of delegates who attend her events year after year and now her classes she teaches at events and at RS&E.

In closing, she has never lost sight of the purpose of scrapbooking, which is her gift to family and friends that will enable her to leave a legacy of memories.
